What side effects can this medication cause?
Side effects from using methylprednisolone may include:
increased appetite
irritability
difficulty sleeping (insomnia)
swelling in your ankles and feet (fluid retention)
sausea, take with food
heartburn
muscle weakness
impaired wound healing
increased blood sugar levels. (Persons with diabetes may need to have blood sugar levels monitored more closely, including possible adjustments to diabetes medications).
Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:
upset stomach
stomach irritation
vomiting
headache
dizziness
insomnia
restlessness
depression
anxiety
acne
increased hair growth
easy bruising
irregular or absent menstrual periods
If you experience any of the following symptoms, call your doctor immediately:
skin rash
swollen face, lower legs, or ankles
vision problems
cold or infection that lasts a long time
muscle weakness
black or tarry stool
Side effects other than those listed here may also occur. Talk to your doctor about any side effect that seems unusual or that is especially bothersome.
